Why it’s a good cheap date
Effort is the most romantic currency. This date is nothing but effort.
Spend an hour beforehand writing five clues that lead through a neighbourhood you both know: a café, a bookshop, a bench, a mural. At the last stop, leave a small gift or a handwritten letter. It costs almost nothing and they'll remember it for years.
Tips
- Ask café staff if you can leave an envelope. Most say yes.
- Keep it to five clues. More than that gets tiring.
- Take a photo at each stop to make a little album.
Make it more romantic
- 1Make each clue a memory: where we had our first argument about dessert.
- 2The final envelope is a letter you'd never say out loud.
- 3Hide a photo of you both at the last stop.
- 4Bring a handwritten note and hand it over at the very end.
Conversation idea
“What's a memory of us you think about more than I'd expect?”
