Why it’s a good cheap date
Art gives shy conversations somewhere to land. You'll learn how the other person sees things.
The National Art Gallery is free, cool, and rarely crowded. Wander the floors, then play a game: if you could take one piece home, which would it be and where would it hang? Then cross the road for tea and a debrief.
Tips
- Take the LRT to Titiwangsa and walk. Parking is limited.
- Check their website for rotating exhibitions.
- Ilham Gallery (also free) is a great alternative near KLCC.
Make it more romantic
- 1Sketch each other badly on the back of the gallery map.
- 2Pick an artwork that reminds you of the other person and explain why.
- 3Buy one postcard from the gift shop and write on it before you leave.
- 4Bring a handwritten note and hand it over at the very end.
Conversation idea
“Which piece would you hang in our future living room?”
