Why it’s a good cheap date
Nature does the work. You just need to show up and walk slowly.
Perdana Botanical Garden is 90 hectares of green in the middle of KL, and it's free. Walk the lake loop, find the orchid and hibiscus gardens, and take a break on a bench. Bring your own drinks and it costs you only the train fare.
Tips
- Walk in from the Muzium Negara MRT stop.
- The orchid garden is free on weekdays.
- Bring a reusable bottle; there are refill points near the entrance.
Make it more romantic
- 1Pick a bench and make it your bench. Return to it on your anniversary.
- 2Bring a flask of teh tarik from home and share it by the lake.
- 3Collect one fallen leaf each and press it in a book.
- 4Bring a handwritten note and hand it over at the very end.
